Oh my. I really need to find a way to get more sessions at sunrise... at the gorge. I mean that light? It only happens for about 45 mins from sunrise and then it's already too bright to shoot. I am so thankful Kelsey was able to talk her husband and three kiddos to wake up before dawn and drive 30 mins into the gorge to Rooster Rock. It was so so so worth it.
I had originally planned a different spot, but was watching the light and just knew we needed to stop NOW. That light doesn't wait for anyone. Luckily I knew Rooster Rock would provide a similar feel as my original location so we pulled over quickly and got to work. Kelsey emailed me later and mentioned that her kiddos were "so subdued, maybe I should get them up before dawn more often!"
I knew I'd have my hands full with 3 pretty shy and reserved kids, but I pulled out all my tricks and was so happy to have gotten them engaged and their true personalities to shine through.
I am actually jealous of the family shots! My husband sneaked a peek over my shoulder while editing and sais "geez, they look like a model family". I couldn't agree more!
Thanks again, Kelsey I had so much fun and I hope these grace your walls for years to come!
